One of our Federal Government client is looking for a Cyber Security Architect to design, review, and guide secure technology architectures across major digital programs. This role focuses on improving the security of systems related to aged care, disability, and health services.
You will help ensure these systems are secure by design, meet Australian Government cyber standards, and stay protected against emerging threats.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and document cyber security architectures for key digital systems.
Review design and architecture material for compliance with ISM, PSPF, and Essential Eight.
Provide security guidance to architects, designers, and delivery teams.
Identify and report security risks or gaps across the system ecosystem.
Assess changes in government cyber policies and explain impacts to stakeholders.
Contribute to internal security policies and processes.
Support system authorisation and assurance activities, including IRAP.
Follow governance frameworks and architecture standards.
Assist with additional projects when needed and share knowledge with internal teams.
Key Criteria
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or similar.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Solid understanding of Australian Government cyber frameworks (ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight).
Proven experience in cyber security architecture within complex ICT environments.
Experience with system authorisation and assurance processes, including IRAP.
Ability to assess and design controls across cloud, on‑prem, and hybrid systems.
Certifications such as SABSA, CISSP, or CISM.
Certifications such as TOGAF 9, COBIT 5 Foundation, SAFe, Scrum, or ITIL v3.
Around 10 years of experience across IT security, design, or development.
