JOB PURPOSE 
 
The Contract Manager role is part of the Network Technology Procurement Team which is responsible for contract implementation, management, supplier on-boarding and management for assigned categories of network technologies, equipment and related services. The total forecasted contract value under management is in excess of $6.5b and a further contract value of $1b in additional spend must be onboarded to meet the corporate plan in the next two years.
 
The Contract Manager role has responsibility for delivering sustainable procurement value through managing contracts and suppliers. The role will also contribute to strategic sourcing through input of business requirements, evaluation of suppliers and contract award recommendations, and the provision of subject matter expertise.
 
The Contract Manager role requires:
  • The ability to manage contracts and contract deliverables for assigned strategic categories of network technologies, equipment and related services.
  • Expertise in leading and managing supplier performance and operational contract and procurement activities;
  • High level expertise in resolving complex commercial issues, by developing resolution and negotiation plans, and leading negotiation with internal and external senior executive level participants;
  • Leading and managing supplier performance and operational procurement activities;
  • Successfully prioritising and managing multiple concurrent commercial maters with individual and multiple stakeholders
  • Supporting end-to-end lifecycle management activities for assigned contracts and strategic categories of network equipment, with a focus on long term sustainable value delivery through effective management of equipment item catalogues, pricing, support services and contract terms;
  • Drafting, negotiating and agreeing SOWs for specific work scopes required by the business;
  • Preparing and executing contract variations and Engineering Change Requests;
  • Preparing and gaining approval for Category of Equipment Acceptance (CoEA) and Performance Guarantee Period (PGP) documents;
  • Monitoring contract performance and compliance in accordance with contracts, contract management plans, risk management plans, quality management plans and governance;
  • A collaborative and facilitative approach to engagement with Procurement colleagues, business stakeholders, and supplier representatives to achieve best value outcomes for client;
  • A communication style that enables business stakeholders to understand the benefits and risks of procurement activities in a way that encourages informed decision making;
  • A strong focus on cross functional leadership to drive a team of client business subject matter experts to deliver optimal outcomes to client business stakeholders, including coaching and developing a high-performance team;
  • Knowledge of key internal stakeholder and external supplier activities, priorities and targets, and an ability to proactively and reactively identify and resolve problems and create efficiencies across people, processes and systems;
  • Facilitating the development of clear and complete business requirements by Engineering and Operations colleagues, and their compliance with Procurement rules;
  • Providing inputs to briefing notes and senior executive governance meeting packs for CEO/Exco meetings with assigned strategic suppliers; and
Contributing to SRM collaborative improvement workshops with assigned strategic suppliers and assisting with the implementation of agreed Collaborative Improvement Actions
