Strong candidates in other locations will be considered however, please note that some regular travel to the Canberra office may be required throughout the term of the engagement.
Requirements
Data Architect:
Developing and implementing an overall organizational data strategy that is in line with business processes. The strategy includes data model designs, database development standards, implementation and management of data warehouses and data analytics systems.
The deliverable for the Data Architect:
o Cloud migration experience with a demonstrated understanding of the benefits and limitations of data management in the cloud
Required Skills and Experience:
Data Architect
Expertise in major RDBMS – has been or is currently actively involved in designing and/or implementing projects in technology such as MS SQLServer, IBM DB2, Teradata, Oracle or cloud native alternatives. Minimum of 3 years experience as a data architect in the data warehouse space

Requirements
Data Architect:
Developing and implementing an overall organizational data strategy that is in line with business processes. The strategy includes data model designs, database development standards, implementation and management of data warehouses and data analytics systems.
The deliverable for the Data Architect:
- Successful design of large scale data warehouse environment providing effective data solutions and models to acquire, store, retrieve, analyse and visualise data in adherence to enterprise standards
- Ability to deeply understand and analyse the Department’s information needs; develop information architectures; and provide data assurance, best practices and policies;
- Deep technical experience in multiple analytical technologies, and knowledgeable in others to connect appropriate dots for a given solution
- Extensive data modelling experience, including conceptual, logical and physical, and deep understanding of data integration concepts and practice.
- Demonstrated experience working in moderate to large scale data analytic environment
- Understand complex information systems and design effective data solutions and models to store and retrieve departmental data in adherence to enterprise standards.
- Strong understanding of information processing principles and practices
- Expertise in on-premises and cloud:
