Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a senior intelligence practitioner with expertise in intelligence collection and analysis,
and who possesses experience in applying intelligence best-practice in a national security, law
enforcement or regulatory domain. We are seeking a motivated individual and strategic thinker to assist
design new and refine existing intelligence systems, polices, procedures, governance frameworks and
guidance materials for an intelligence function operating in a compliance and enforcement
environment.
Duties
• Undertake a review of existing intelligence systems, polices, procedures, governance
frameworks and guidance materials.
• Develop a project plan to map and prioritise the creation of new and the improvement of
existing intelligence systems, polices, procedures, governance frameworks and guidance
materials.
• Work with internal staff and partner-agencies where appropriate to implement the project plan.
• Provide timely updates and reporting to inform the Director of Environment Intelligence, Senior
Executives, colleagues and other relevant stakeholders of progress against the identified
objectives.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to
support best-practice and application of contemporary intelligence tools and tradecraft.
• Complying with legal, compliance and governance obligations and Australian Government
standards.
Capabilities
• Good communication skills and credibility to liaise a variety of stakeholders.
• High-level written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with a variety
of audiences, including the senior executive.
• The ability to exercise good judgment and self-awareness, and work autonomously work under
limited direction, to effectively prioritise and manage competing tasks.
• Ability to prepare written work that is well constructed and adapted to the needs of the
audience.
• Experience with systems to manage, develop and evaluate intelligence performance.
• Experience in managing and delivering on long-term projects and reform activities.
