If voice, video, and collaboration platforms are your thing and you enjoy owning systems end to end, this role puts you right at the centre of mission‑critical communications.
You’ll work hands‑on with secure telephony and videoconferencing platforms, supporting both day‑to‑day operations and long‑term improvements across a complex enterprise environment.
What you will do
Act as a go‑to technical expert for telephony, videoconferencing, and unified communications platforms
Support, configure, program, and install both existing and new voice and video solutions
Keep core collaboration services running smoothly by diagnosing and resolving complex issues, including recurring incidents
Work closely with operations teams to investigate faults and drive permanent fixes
Design, build, test, and uplift secure UC solutions that meet operational and security requirements
Produce and maintain technical documentation such as solution designs, SOPs, and as‑built documentation
Participate in validation and verification activities with internal teams and external partners
Collaborate with vendors and specialists to refine designs and deliver practical, scalable outcomes
Build proof‑of‑concept environments quickly to support testing, accreditation, and future improvements
Balance operational support with project delivery in a fast‑paced infrastructure environment
Technologies you will work with
You’ll be hands‑on with a mix of on‑prem, cloud, and hybrid collaboration technologies, including:
Unified Communications platforms and call control systems
Enterprise voice, video, and conferencing solutions
Secure VoIP and video protocols
Session Border Controllers and interoperability gateways
Collaboration platforms bridging on‑prem and cloud services
Automation and scripting tools to streamline builds and operations
You should have
5+ years’ experience supporting and operating Unified Communications environments
Strong hands‑on experience with voice, video, and collaboration systems in production
Deep understanding of VoIP protocols and codecs, including SIP, RTP, SRTP, XMPP, G.711, G.729 and H.264/H.265
Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting telephony, VTC, and collaboration solutions
Solid knowledge of call routing, translation, interoperability, and bridging between platforms
Experience working with UC call managers, conferencing platforms, and video endpoints
Familiarity with secure environments and contributing to security controls and compliance
Ability to work well within a technical team, communicate clearly, and meet delivery deadlines
A relevant degree (engineering, computer science, telecommunications) or equivalent industry experience
Nice to have
Experience with routing and switching, and core networking concepts (VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, SNMP)
Exposure to Juniper or similar enterprise networking platforms
Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ansible, or similar)
Understanding of virtualisation, hyper‑converged infrastructure, Active Directory, and PKI
Experience implementing and testing QoS and traffic marking in secure or federated networks
