We are looking for two experienced Cloud Engineers to join an internal ICT Infrastructure & Cloud Services team for an initial 12‑month contract.
These are senior, hands‑on roles where you will help deliver a busy pipeline of ICT projects while also supporting and improving cloud infrastructure and security. You will work closely with architecture, security, project, and service management teams to deliver secure and reliable cloud solutions.
12‑month contract, with the possibility of 2 additional 12‑month extensions
Candidates must be Australian Citizens and a minimum Baseline clearance is required
The role is based in Canberra, ACT. Candidates must be available to work on‑site
What you will do
Design, build, and support Azure Cloud and Microsoft 365 environments
Work across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms
Ensure cloud solutions meet Australian Government security standards
Create and maintain cloud design documentation
Support hub‑and‑spoke network architecture
Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines
Manage identity, access, and device management
Design and support backup, disaster recovery, and data platforms
Contribute to secure data, AI, and information protection initiatives
Work collaboratively with stakeholders and technical teams
Technologies you will work with
You will work with modern Microsoft and cloud technologies, including:
Microsoft Azure
Microsoft 365
Entra ID (Azure AD) and Single Sign‑On
Azure DevOps
Bicep and ARM templates
Microsoft Intune
Backup, DR, data protection, and security tooling
Fortinet technologies (desirable)
What we are looking for (Essential)
Strong hands‑on experience with Azure and Microsoft 365
Experience designing and supporting secure cloud environments
Knowledge of Essential 8, ISM, PSPF, Zero Trust, and Secure by Design principles
Experience with IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
Strong experience with identity, access, and device management
Ability to produce clear technical and design documentation
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently
Nice to have
5+ years working with Microsoft and Fortinet technologies
Azure certifications
Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance
Strong stakeholder communication skills
Experience working in a fast‑paced, delivery‑focused environment
