This opportunity sits within a federal government department focused on delivering critical digital and service transformation initiatives. The role involves working as a Business Analyst across a range of platforms, including websites, intranet, and digital collaboration tools, with a strong emphasis on improving user experience and service design.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders and Agile delivery teams to gather requirements, shape solutions, and ensure digital products are practical, user-friendly, and aligned with business outcomes, while also contributing to continuous improvement and team capability uplift.
What you will do
Work closely with business and delivery teams to understand how things operate today and identify opportunities to improve digital services.
Lead requirements gathering across a mix of digital products, including websites, intranet platforms, and e-learning tools.
Translate business needs into clear user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria that development teams can build against.
Champion a strong user-first mindset, ensuring solutions are intuitive, accessible, and practical.
Contribute hands-on to UX/UI discussions, helping shape how users interact with systems.
Support the design and evolution of a service portal, considering both functional and non-functional aspects.
Define and track KPIs, OKRs, and measurable outcomes to ensure solutions deliver real business value.
Work collaboratively within Agile teams, participating in ceremonies and keeping delivery aligned to priorities.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across different levels, ensuring expectations and outcomes stay aligned.
Support, mentor, and share knowledge with other Business Analysts and team members to lift overall capability.
Technologies you will work with
Website and content management platforms (e.g., Drupal or similar)
Digital collaboration tools such as SharePoint and intranet platforms
E-learning and training systems
Agile delivery tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence or equivalents)
UX/UI design and prototyping tools (as part of collaboration with design teams)
Data tracking and reporting tools to measure performance and outcomes
You should have
Solid experience working as a Business Analyst in Agile delivery environments
Strong grounding in UX principles and user-centred design approaches
Proven ability to gather, analyse, and prioritise business requirements
Experience turning business needs into user stories, epics, and clear acceptance criteria
Confidence working closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, and engineering
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to organise and run workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions effectively
A practical, outcome-focused mindset with attention to detail
Nice to have
Experience mentoring or guiding other Business Analysts or product team members
Background working across digital platforms such as websites, intranets, or learning systems
Familiarity with tools like Drupal, SharePoint, or similar enterprise platforms
Agile or SAFe certifications (or equivalent hands-on experience)
Experience defining success metrics, KPIs, or business benefit tracking
Exposure to service design practices or end-to-end journey mapping
