We are looking for an experienced Cloud Solution Architect/ Senior Cloud Engineer to work on a range of ICT projects, including AI and emerging technologies.
You will help design and deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions using Microsoft technologies. This role suits someone who enjoys working with both business and technical teams and can turn ideas into clear, practical designs.
12‑month contract, with the possibility of 2 additional 12‑month extensions
Candidates must be Australian Citizens and a minimum Baseline clearance is required
The role is based in Canberra, ACT. Candidates must be available to work on‑site
What you will do
Understand business needs and turn them into Azure cloud solutions
Create High Level Designs (HLD) and Detailed Level Designs (DLD)
Design and review Azure-based architectures
Help build and improve Azure DevOps pipelines
Work closely with security, architecture, cloud, and delivery teams
Make sure solutions follow government security standards
Clearly explain technical designs using simple language and diagrams

You should have:
Strong experience as a Solution Architect or Senior Cloud Engineer
Hands-on experience designing solutions for Azure cloud environments
Experience creating HLDs, DLDs, and reusable architecture patterns
Experience implementing and managing Azure services
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and Azure DevOps
Experience working with security standards such as ISM
Ability to work well with stakeholders and gain design approvals
Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex ideas simply
It’s a bonus if you have
Experience with Azure AI, Machine Learning, Cognitive Services, or Data platforms
Experience with CI/CD, integrations, APIs, or DevOps practices
Experience working in an Agile environment
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
