We are seeking an experienced Data Manager to support enterprise application and database environments within a large, complex organisation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring application reliability, database performance, and the delivery of high‑quality data services that enable informed, data‑driven decision‑making.

Reporting to a senior technology leader, you will work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to support production systems, resolve issues, and continually improve database and application performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement solutions to resolve application and database issues.
  • Analyse application behaviour, logs, error messages, and system performance to diagnose root causes.
  • Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and IT service teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Monitor software applications in production, including response times, error rates, and resource utilisation.
  • Analyse database performance and ensure efficiency, security, and alignment with user and business needs.
  • Ensure databases meet agreed service level objectives and operational standards.
  • Provide ongoing support and administration of databases supporting enterprise applications.
  • Use monitoring and diagnostic tools to proactively assess database and application health.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including automation of database administration tasks.

Experience & Technical Expertise
  • Demonstrated experience in infrastructure operations and/or production support environments.
  • Proven experience administering databases within a large enterprise environment.
  • Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience as an Oracle DBA, across application and/or data warehouse platforms.
  • Experience or capability in automating database administration processes.
  • Exposure to or experience with Oracle GoldenGate.
  • Experience supporting Siebel environments (operations and/or application support) is highly desirable.
